The Best Reasons for Eating Organic Food

There are two types of food. Organic and conventionally grown food. Both of them look the same, but they are not the exactly the same. There are many reasons why you should go organic. But, in general, you should do this because organic food is better for your health. Also, it is a much safer alternative. Luckily, there are more reasons why you should eat organic food. These reasons are:

1.    Organic food doesn’t contain chemicals. This is probably the most important benefit and advantage over the conventionally grown food. In the United States, more than 600 chemicals are used in agriculture. This means that use of pesticides is 16 pounds per a person per one year. Many of those chemicals have been approved by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). But, according to the National Academy of Sciences, 90% of them are not tested for long term use.
2.    Organic food has more nutrients. The soil, used in organic farming is treated in a different way, so plants get more nutrients. According to professionals, organic food has: 29% more of magnesium, 27% more vitamin C, and 21% more iron than conventionally grown food. 
3.    Organic plants produce healthy food, so the taste is much better. If you still believe that organic food and conventionally grown food have the same taste, try organic food.
4.    GMO (genetically modified organisms) and GE (Genetically engineered) food spreading as we speak. They are contaminating our food supply. But, you should avoid the GMO food. It doesn’t have to be labeled, but you must be careful and eliminate it from your diet.
